LYDIA. Saitta. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 24 mm, 5.28 g, 6 h), time of the Severans, circa 193-235. IЄPA BOYΛH Laureate and draped bust of Boulé to right. Rev. CAITTHNΩN Dionysos standing front, head to left, holding kantharos in his right hand and thyrsos in his left; at his feet, panther left, head to right. GRPC Lydia 44a = Saitta Collection 438. Of the highest rarity, apparently the second known example. Some deposits and with faint scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
